When I hit my 40s, I added facial oils to my skincare routine. Facial oil is a bit like marmite, I feel - you either love it or hate it. Some swear by them for the glowing benefits they offer while others run for the hills even at the mere mention of facial oils. Yes, they may not work the same for everyone but with a little trial and error you can find a facial oil that is suitable to your skin type.

The Olverum Pure Radiance Facial Oil has been a part of my evening skincare routine for around four weeks now and I’ve to say, I am enamoured.
Olverum's facial oil is a combination of sustainably sourced essential oils and botanical extracts like Bakuchiol, the first natural retinol alternative which helps to firm, plump and balance the tone of skin without causing skin irritation (great for those whose skin doesn't react well to Retinol based products). Rosehip and Cacay Oils are added to help prevent dry, harsh breakouts that traditional retinol products can cause. Another fantastic ingredient is the CBD alternative Patchouli Extract - a phytocannabidol which activates dermal CBD-2 receptors and helps to calm habitually held expressions and give you a freshened, dewy skin.
The oil also contains an unique F, A, C, E vitamin formulation that helps to boost collagen production and cell renewal and brightens tired-looking skin.

- Bakuchiol: The first natural alternative to retinol, clinically demonstrated to reduce blemishes, hyperpigmentation and wrinkles as efficiently as the common synthetic compound, without the associated irritation.
- Rosehip Oil: A natural source of Vitamin A, extracted from the seeds of the wild rose plant, with regenerative properties to help reduce the appearance of blemishes.
- Cacay Oil: Harvested in Colombia by a company contributing to sustainable economic development, this is a rich source of Linoleic Acid (Vitamin F), an effective emollient and antioxidant for brightening and soothing skin.
- Patchouli Extract: A natural phytocannabidol which activates the skin’s CBD-2 receptors to soothe and calm skin. Patchouli Extract relaxes the held expressions that emphasise existing fine lines and wrinkles, increasing the visible perception of ageing.

I have combination facial skin and this oil has been an absolute luxurious treat for my skin. I use it nightly and it always feels like a mini pamper session for the skin. Only a few drops are needed for each application and the oil is easy to apply. It doesn't feel 'oily' and sinks in beautifully into the skin. I also LOVE the fragrance - Cardamom and Clary Sage being the dominating scents.
Olverum have also suggested an application technique for the oil. It is a detoxifying self-massage technique combining Shiatsu and Gua Sha disciplines and helps maximise the oil's benefits.
In the four weeks that I have been using the product for, not once has it irritated my skin. And I have definitely seen a difference - my skin feels more glowy in the morning and it is better hydrated too. And a little goes a long way, so you definitely get your money's worth too. I love everything about this facial oil - it smells divine, comes beautifully packaged with a pipette, feels beautiful and luxurious when applied to the skin and most importantly leaves my skin hydrated and revitalised.
