Launched in 1910 as a toilet soap, the Lotil brand has grown since then to become a trusted product range that is known to gently rehydrate dry skin providing maximum protection and moisturisation. Lotil underwent a rebranding in 2008, but the cream's formula hasn't changed in all these years and it remains a go-to multifunctional product for various dry skin conditions.
Lotil's product range includes three key products:
- Lotil Cream
- Lotil Lip Care
- Lotil Foot Cream
The products have a rich, non-greasy and deeply hydrating formula that is easily absorbed and work as great all-rounder products. The products are gently medicated, have anti-bacterial and antiseptic properties and aim to provide a long-lasting barrier to infection. There is mild medicinal scent which I, surprisingly, quite liked. The range is fantastic for those suffering from dry skin conditions including eczema and psoriasis.
Let's take a look at the products in detail.
Lotil Cream: The cream is thick and rich and leaves the skin feeling soft and hydrated. Even though it has a rich texture, I have noticed that it gets absorbed completely and easily and works like a treat for the skin. It contains powerful emollients that help to rehydrate and soften the skin. It is perfect for use on hands, elbows, knees, body and face - a truly all-rounder product. You can use it as a night cream, a facial moisturiser, a hydrating cream for nails or to target specific dry skin conditions.
The Cream is available in a range of pack sizes - from a 30 miniature tube to a 50ml handbag-sized tube (both great for travel) and from a 114ml home use tub to an extra large 500ml pump dispenser pack.
Lotil Lip Care: With all the skin moisturising benefits of Lotil Cream + added SPF 30, the lip product helps to combat sore, chapped and cracked lips. The product is dermatologically tested and PABA free.
Lotil Foot Cream: With the same rich, moisturising formula as the Lotil cream, the foot cream also has the added benefits of Rosemary Extract (known for its anti-oxidant properties) and Aloe Vera (known for its moisturising, soothing & anti-inflammatory properties) and helps to moisturise and soften the hard, dry skin on feet.
We have been using the three products for the past couple of weeks and have so far been impressed with the results; especially the Original Cream and the Foot Cream. The products tackle dryness very well; working effectively on very dry skin patches (on knees & elbows) too. I liked the texture and how it makes the skin feel softer after application. A great set of products to add to your winter skincare routine.
You can purchase Lotil products from Amazon, Lloyds Pharmacy, Boots and other independent pharmacies.
