Last month's foodie finds included products from YaconViva, Better Nature, Purition and Aloha. This month, I am back with some other fab finds. Take a look.

Vegan Baked Cookie and Clear Vegan Protein from MyVegan

This month we tried out two new products from MyVegan and both were fantastic.

First up let me tell you about the Vegan Baked Cookie which is baked from a rich dough made with coconut oil and has a generous sprinkling of dark chocolate chunks. It is free from artificial sweeteners and has around 14g of high-quality plant-based protein per cookie. We loved the taste and the texture. And with 14g of protein in each cookie, this makes for an excellent (and tasty) healthy snack on the go. Definitely will be purchasing this as both myself and Mr.H loved it.

Next we tried the Clear Vegan Protein (Strawberry flavour) which is a refreshing alternative to classic protein shakes. It is a fully dissolvable, clear vegan protein drink made from Hydrolysed Pea Protein (78%) and Strawberry Powder (13%) with a number of key vitamins included as well.

Clear Vegan Protein from MyVegan

A serving of the protein powder (16g) is to be dissolved in 300-400ml of cold water and shaken well. Let it settle and you have a translucent protein drink that tastes yummy and gives you 10g plant-based protein and half your daily B vitamin intake. The drink is light and refreshing and unlike traditional protein drinks. It is more like a squash loaded with protein. We loved it. This is also something that we will be adding to our shopping list.

You can check out MyVegan's entire range of products at www.myvegan.com.

The Meatless Farm Co

Another fantastic find this month has been the Meatless Farm Co. They are one of the UK’s fastest growing next generation meat alternative brand and their product range includes delicious and nutritious plant-based mince, burgers and sausages.

We tried out their new range of meat-free sausages and mince and loved them. Made using high quality plant-based ingredients, both the sausages and mince were great in terms of taste and texture.
The sausages are made using a mix of pea protein and the finest plant-based ingredients; minus soy. They are high in protein and a good source of fibre and 100% vegan. We have tried a number of different brands of vegan/vegetarian sausages and these certainly rank in the top. Easy to cook and great to taste, we loved it.

The mince is made of a mix of pea, rice and soya protein, and scores well both on taste and texture. I tried out the 'Meat-Free Chilli Non Carne' recipe from Meatless Farm's website and it was a great hit at our home.

I can see Meatless Farm's products becoming a staple at our home. Great meat alternative at great prices. You can order their products online at www.meatlessfarm.com

The Skinny Food Co

Founded in May 2018, the Skinny Food Co have a range of Zero Calorie Sauces, Syrups, Jams and a number of healthy snacking options. They recently launched Vegan Coffee Creamers and a Vegan Cheese Shaker.

The non-dairy creamer is available in two flavours - vanilla and hazelnut - and can be enjoyed in coffee, tea, smoothies, porridge or any other drinks. The creamer has zero sugar (diabetic friendly) and makes for a good milk alternative without any artificial aftertaste. Great for vegans.

The Skinny Food Co Vanilla Creamer

The Vegan Cheese Shaker contains full-fat Soya Flour, Potato Starch and flavourings and is high in protein and low in calories. You can sprinkle it over pasta, macaroni cheese, omelettes or anything else where you want the flavour of cheese minus the extra calories. Another great product for vegans.

The Skinny Food Co Sauces

We also tried two other products - the Virtually Zero Calorie Honey Mustard Sauce which was a hit and the Zero Calorie Garlic Mayonnaise Sauce which was a miss.

But a good introduction to the brand nonetheless. The Skinny Food Co seem to have recently launched some seasonings and spices which I am inclined to give a try.

You can check out their range here.

ZENB Veggie Sticks

ZENB Veggie Sticks are made from whole vegetables including the stem, seeds, pith and peel not only to ensure that they’re packed full of vegetable deliciousness but also to help raise awareness around food waste. The Veggie Sticks are currently available in four flavours:

- Beetroot Veggie Sticks - which blend the taste of beetroot with chocolatey flavour of cacao.
- Carrot Veggie Sticks - made with delicious organically-grown carrots with a hint of flavourful coriander.
- Pumpkin Veggie Sticks - full-flavoured veggie taste with a touch of cinnamon & nutmeg.
- Red Peppers Stick - made with every part of the pepper, including seeds and stems.

ZENB Veggie Sticks

These veggie sticks were unlike any other healthy snacks that we have tried. We liked the fact that they are plant based and simplify food waste. In terms of taste, I would say it would come down to your personal preference. I liked the beetroot, carrot and pumpkin sticks but the red pepper one not so much.

You can learn more about ZENB on their website, www.zenb.co.uk

And rounding up the list is a vegetarian grab & go based in London. If you are in the vicinity, give DASH a go.

DASH London

DASH is a 100% vegetarian grab & go located just seconds away from Leicester Square tube station in London. The location was originally due to open in March of this year but sadly hasn't opened until recently to make sure safety for COVID was put first. Now, DASH owner Tommy has jumped to make quick and effective changes to be able to open DASH in the current climate. Customers don't even need to set foot inside and can easily social distance without stress (and get their coffee and food fix, too).

DASH London

DASH offers coffee, breakfast, lunch and snacks to quench your thirst, coffee needs and grab a bite to go. They are looking to create a bridge between vegetarian and vegan food by putting a focus on having a large range of plant-based items and plant-based milk on offer in addition to vegetarian items and regular milk. Apart from their breakfast and lunch menu, DASH also have smaller breakfast boxes, salads, pastries and pre-packaged snacks. They also have got matcha, tea, soft drinks and smoothie bowls filled to the brim with fresh fruit and various toppings. Overall, the grab & go is hoping to bring more accessible vegetarian and vegan items to its customers on the go.
