Love food and drink? Then my special feature 'New Food Finds' is for you. It is a monthly roundup where I share some fabulous products from new and known brands, small, independent producers and artisan food specialists. Take a look.
Human Food Organic Daily Nutrition Bar
Human Food was launched by Ky Wright in response to a market need for an organic, nutritionally complete, plant-based diet. Human Food is a combination of 20 organic wholefoods and wholefood extracts, designed for maximum nutritional density, and developed specifically to support a plant-based diet. The taste comes naturally from the combination of these ingredients.
It's a 100% clean label. Their products do not contain GMOs, soy, wheat, dairy, added sugar, artificial sweeteners & flavourings, artificial preservatives or synthetic nutrients.
There are, at present, three different daily nutrition bars each made completely from organically grown whole foods. The key ingredients in the bars are:
Organic Hulled Hemp Seeds (10g), Organic Dried Banana, Organic Dates, Organic Apple Juice Concentrate, Organic Hemp Protein, Organic Sunflower Seeds, Organic Pumpkin Seeds, Organic Figs, Organic Dried Apricots, Organic Cacao Powder (3g), Algae Extract, Organic Puffed Quinoa, Organic Mulberries, Organic Maca (500mg), Organic Quinoa Sprout Extract, Curry Leaf Extract, Organic Siberian Ginseng (200mg), Organic Mushroom Extract, Organic Black Pepper.#
In addition to the above, the red bar has Goji berries, the green one has Spirulina and the yellow one contains Turmeric.
Sounds good, doesn't it? What about the taste, I hear you ask? And let me tell you all the three flavours are delicious. The bars are packed with healthy ingredients, are dense, very satiating and leave you feeling good. You can eat them as is or you could have it as a smoothie or add it to porridge. A fab product!
If you are looking for plant-based, organic food that is also tasty, then these bars from Human Food are an excellent choice. Give them a try. Plus, the brand is environmental friendly. The bar wrappers are made of PEFC paper and plant-based foil and are 100% compostable. Well done, Human Food!

Love Yourself Meal Box
Next up in this month's roundup is Love Yourself, a freshly cooked meal box delivery service, that we recently tried.
The concept is simple - calorie controlled premium diets are freshly prepared, using seasonal ingredients containing no processed meats, additives or preservatives and delivered right to your door.
As of now Love Yourself offers the following diet formats:
- Balanced Diet
- Vegetarian Diet
- Gluten-free Diet
- Balanced Diet (No Fish)
- Keto Diet
- Performance Diet
- Pescatarian Diet
- Dairy-free Diet
Once you have chosen your meal box, Love Yourself's Michelin trained professional chef and team cook the meals (daily; with only the freshest and best ingredients) and it is delivered to your home every evening between 7-10pm ready to enjoy the following day.
You can choose from 1-day, 5-days, 6-days, 4 weeks or 8 weeks duration for the meal box delivery and also choose the total calories so that you can acheive your weight loss goals or maintain your current healthy weight.
We tried out the 1-day Vegetarian Diet to see how it works and what the food quality is like and here is what we thought.
The service was good. The food was delivered on time as promised and it was real, fresh food; not something from a tin or can and came packaged in food grade containers.
The meal box included:
- Oat porridge with raspberries and toasted hazelnut (Breakfast)
- Turmeric spiced cauliflower soup in coconut milk with Goji berries (Morning Snack)
- Beans with sweet potato mash & vegetables (Lunch)
- Cinnamon spiced avocado pudding (Afternoon Snack)
- Courgette with soft ricotta, fresh peas and mint (Dinner)
Each meal came with a complete list of ingredients, allergy advice, calories per portion and serving instructions.
I loved all the meals; with the lunch and dinner being my favourites - well balanced and great flavour. The soup and the oat porridge were lovely as well. The only item that I did not like was the avocado pudding which is down to a personal preference. But having said that, the overall variety and quality of meals was good.
This could be a very useful service for those who have no time to go to the shops, don't have the time or inclination to cook or simply need nutritionally balanced meals to achieve their fitness goals.

The Lizi's Granola brand was founded by Lizi and her husband Dr Mick Shaw in 2003. They are the first company in the world to measure the Glycemic Load (GL), load of their products. GL is a direct measure of how food affects blood sugar and products that have a low GL will help to keep blood sugars even and well balanced.
All of Lizi's products deliver sustained energy and protein throughout the day and are made from 100% natural ingredients with no GMO’s or added salt. They are suitable for vegetarians and vegans and are good for blood sugar control.
There are currently 12 different flavours in the granola range - Original, High Protein, Maple & Pecan, Digestive Health, Passionfruit & Pistachio, Treacle & Pecan, Mango Macadamia, Belgian Chocolate, Pink Apple & Cinnamon, Low Sugar, Organic and Gluten Free.
Mr.H tried out the High Protein version and was surprised at how good it was. With ingredients like rolled oats, soya protein flakes & crispies, pumpkin seeds, chopped almonds/walnuts, the granola not only offers great taste and texture but also gives 27 percent of ones daily protein needs (in a single 50g serving). The granola is good with both milk and yoghurt or even eaten as it on its own. Fab product!

Creative Nature are specialists in high quality natural healthy snacks and baking mixes. We recently tried out two of their baking mixes and loved them. These mixes are refined sugar free and top 14 allergen free, so these home bakes will cater for everyone. The mixes are very easy-to-make and include a regular and a vegan recipe on pack. All you need to do is add the ingredients listed on the pack and bake in the oven for an indulgent treat.
We tried the cacao rich chocolate cake mix and the chia & cacao choc chip brownie mix and both were fantastic. Easy to mix and bake, both had a lovely home-made feeling to them and great taste.
These baking mixes are brilliant if you are looking to bake for someone with allergies or if you are new to baking or if you are short on time. A perfect solution in all the scenarios.
You can buy Creative Nature's baking mixes as well as their other products at www.creativenaturesuperfoods.co.uk
