Theye
are an innovative company who develop high-quality plant-based mosquito repellents. Their products are tested under UK & European regulations and includes mosquito & insect repellent wrist bands, protective compact micro sprays & travel accessories. Theye's products undergo high standard of testing and are manufactured & formulated in the UK.

A while back I was sent a selection of their products to try out. We have put some of them to test during our daily walks in the Lee Valley green spaces. Read on to see what the products are and what my thoughts are on them.

Made from plant based materials all of Theye's products have been dermatologically tested. First up let's take a look at the key products of the range.

Theye Mosquito Repellent Aerosol and Cream

Theye Mosquito Repellent Wipes

The product range has been proven to offer complete protection for up to 6 hours after a single application against mosquitos, midges and other biting insects. It is a DEET free & alcohol-free formulation that is moisturising & kind to the skin and has a fresh smelling fragrance. According to Theye, the aerosol is 100% effective to use in high and low-risk areas where Malaria, Chikungunya, West Nile Virus, Zika, Dengue and other insect transmitted diseases are present.

The aerosol and spray have been my favourites. So easy to use - just spray on the body parts that need protection and you are good to go. It keeps midges away very effectively. Our local walking routes take us through fields. past horse riding schools and water bodies. And we invariably encounter all kinds of creepy crawlies and insects on our walks. And with the current weather, there has been a surge in their numbers; especially horseflies. And Theye products are coming in very handy. They seem to keep all kinds of insects at bay!

And there is even a travel friendly offering from Theye - the Mosquito Repellent Micro Spray, £2.99. The micro spray is a very handy and practical product that offers the same insect repellent properties as the full sized products with around 6 hours+ repellency from a single application. A single spray bottle offers over 300 sprays and has a 30% Citriodiol formulation.

Theye also has two other micro sprays

  • Hand Sanitiser Micro Spray
  • Sunscreen SPF 30 Micro Spray

Theye Mosquito Repellent Micro Spray

The sanitising micro spray holds 18ml of product that equates to around 300 sprays. It kills 99.99% of bacteria and because of its compact size is perfect for travel. The sunscreen also offers over 300 sprays from a single spray bottle of 18ml and has an SPF 30.

Theye also have two different types of mosquito repellent wrist bands

  • Standard bands, £4.99
  • Adjustable wrist bands, £6.00

Theye Mosquito Repellent Wrist Band

These wrist bands are manufactured from silicone and have been designed to contain a plant based derived insect repellent which is oil of Lemon Eucalyptus (Citriodiol) that has been proven to repel mosquitos. The bands are easy to use effectively for up to 2 weeks. The standard band is available in two sizes - large (202mm) and small (180mm). The adjustable band is one size fits all (from 160mm to 220mm).

  1. Probably would use the Aerosol even though it may be less 'green' because it can be used quickly and we seem to find ourselves troubled by mosquitoes unexpectedly, such as stopping in a lay-by for lunch.

I'd happily use them all, I think I'd try the cream first so my husband could have the wristband, he's a bit funny about creams and sprays but whatever works is fine with me as long as it won't affect my breathing
