National Biscuit Day 2019
Did you know that it is National Biscuit Day today?

Yes, there is a National Day for biscuits! And I, for one, love it as there is nothing like a biscuit-y treat. I am sure many of you love dunking biscuits in your tea. So, why not pick up a pack of your favourite biscuits today and enjoy it during your tea break?

Supermarket aisles are packed with so many varieties of biscuits these days. Shoppers have a lot of choice: rich tea biscuits, ginger nut biscuits, plain and chocolate digestives, Viennese biscuits, custard creams, chocolate chip cookies, Bourbons, Jammie Dodgers, Hobnobs, Malted Milk biscuits, shortbreads, Nice biscuits, Jaffa Cakes and so many others.

The list is certainly not definitive and if your favourite is not included in it, let me know.

When we talk about biscuits, there are a few brands that seem synonymous with them. Bahlsen is one of them. Bahlsen is a family business specialising in beautifully crafted sweet biscuits. The company was founded in 1889 and includes Bahlsen, PickUp, Hit, Zoo and Leibniz brands.

Bahlsen Choco Leibniz

The Leibniz Original is a classic butter biscuit with a delicious buttery taste and the perfect crunch. The Choco Leibniz range features the crisp butter biscuit coated in a layer of creamy chocolate. It comes in a range of flavours - milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate, chocolate orange and caramel. And all of them are delicious! Don't take my word for it! Try them our for yourself. You will find the Leibniz Chocolate range in Coop, Ocado, Waitrose and many other superstores.

Another popular brand is McVitie’s who have been making some of the UK’s favourite biscuits since 1839! Starting off in a small ‘provision’ shop in Edinburgh, the brand has grown into one of the most recognisable and popular brands of current times. They make everything from rich tea biscuits to hobnobs and from digestives to ginger nuts.

McVities Digestives

My favourites from McVitie’s include their digestives - the original (with its classic crunch) and the milk chocolate version. They also have dark chocolate digestives and newer launches like caramel digestives (classic caramel, banoffee caramel and coffee caramel) and double chocolate digestives.
I also like the milk chocolate hobnobs from McVitie’s. Oaty biscuits smothered in rich and smooth chocolate. What's not to love!

You can pick up McVitie’s biscuits from most superstores.
