I love sunshine as much as anyone else does, but the last few weeks of blazing sunshine and soaring temperatures have left me longing for a little rain. And a little respite came a few days back with some intermittent rain giving a break from the dry weather. The weather forecast shows more rain spread over the coming week and I am not complaining! The rainy periods also gave me the chance to test three new umbrellas that we received recently from Susino.
Established in 2007, Susino are an umbrella brand based in the UK. They are headquartered in Liverpool and cater to both retail and wholesale customers. Susino manufacture and stock a wide variety of umbrellas including ladies, gentlemen's, children's, golf and special ranges. When the opportunity arose to review Susino's umbrellas, we were asked to pick any three products from any of their ranges and I chose the following:
- a compact duck head umbrella
- a ladies polka dot walking umbrella and
- a wind resistant unisex black compact umbrella
This has to be the cutest compact umbrella I have come across. In addition to the compact size (which is ideal for travel and for easy storage), the umbrella features a wooden painted duck head handle that is simply too cute. Just looking at it is sure to bring a smile to your face. The handle is very easy to grip and adds a new level of fun to a standard compact umbrella. The overall design is brilliant and it has performed well in moderate rain. I think this umbrella would make a lovely gift for any bird lover.

The umbrella features an automatic open feature which allows the user to open the umbrella swiftly. The build quality is good - a strong steel frame and fibreglass ribs which offer wind resistance. So far, it looks to be a robust umbrella. It is compact for carrying and opens up to a good size providing good coverage (for a single person) from the elements.
