Sailor Jerry recently launched a new limited-edition bottle design to celebrate the legacy of Norman ‘Sailor Jerry’ Collins.
Norman Collins, a prominent American tattoo artist was popular for his bold and colourful tattoo designs especially for sailors; thus earning him the nickname "Sailor Jerry". Inspired by Jerry’s colourful tattoo designs, the limited-edition bottle features a gloss-black wrap and two pieces from Jerry’s iconic flash artwork - the eagle and the rose. The eagle speaks of strength and freedom while the rose of love. This is a reminder of Jerry’s early tattooing days inking fellow soldiers and sailors at his popular tattoo parlour in World War II-era Hawaii.
The limited-edition bottle decorated with a bold red floral symbol (an emblem of love which sailors often selected as a tattoo to remind them of their wives, girlfriends or mothers whilst at sea) makes it a perfect gift for a loved one whether it is a rum lover or a drinks collector. The bottle is priced at £20.29 and available in all major supermarkets (while stocks last).
1 part Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum
3 parts ginger beer
Add Sailor Jerry to empty highball glass then fill with ice. Top with ginger beer and garnish with candied ginger. Enjoy!
