A few weeks back we were selected to review a limited edition antique men’s automatic watch from Globenfeld. Upon placing the order on Amazon, I received the confirmation email and the watch was delivered very quickly - quicker than the expected arrival date mentioned in the email!
The antique style watch came nicely packaged in a sturdy box, ready for gifting. The first impressions of the design and build quality were good. I liked the textured dial and the classic look. This was our first experience with the Globenfeld brand and the watch looked like a smart piece. Included in the box was the warranty information - a 90-day money back guarantee as well as a platinum warranty for a period of 5 years from the date of purchase of the watch. All good so far. After my quick inspection, I put the watch back in the box and waited for Mr.H to arrive from work. We then had a good look at the watch together.
The watch size was perfect for Mr.H - it was not too chunky as many watches tend to be and neither was it too small. This limited edition watch is a battery-free watch. It is self-winding and mechanical, meaning it works dependant on the natural motion of the wearer. The watch has over 110 individual intricately moving parts and 20 jewelled movements none of which require any batteries. The build quality on closer inspection looked much more impressive than the first look. The watch boasts a stylish design with blue-dotted indices, blue and gold coloured Sun and Moon display, a transparent case back and a high grade, luxurious leather strap. It is very well made and looks durable.
Overall, both Mr.H and myself have been impressed with the design and quality of this watch. As you can see in the photos posted above, it looks stylish and the antique style only elevates it to a higher level of classiness. The watch is priced at £199.00 normally but is currently available on Amazon for £79.99 making it an excellent buy.
