Temperatures have dropped and the nights are getting colder. And even with heating on in the nights, I have been unable to sleep well. My extremities tend to be cold always; no matter what the season. And it only gets worse in the colder months. So, I am always looking for ways to keep myself warm and cosy. Thankfully SleepyPeople sent me one of the Silentnight Fleecy Electric Blankets to try out and it has proved to be very useful since its arrival.
Here is a little bit of information about SleepyPeople before I move on to the electric blanket. SleepyPeople are a UK-based and family owned business that was founded in 2006. They sell everything from pillows, duvets and memory foam mattress toppers to electric blankets online. SleepyPeople stock products from well known bedding brands like Silentnight, Sealy, Rest Assured and Dreamland etc. And they offer free UK mainland delivery!
The Silentnight Fleecy Electric Blanket was very easy to set up and use. The fleece blanket needs to be secured to the mattress using the support ties provided. The main lead is to be positioned at the pillow end. Once everything is in place, cover the blanket with a sheet. Plug the power lead into the electric socket and use the switch control to adjust the heat settings.
There are 3 heat settings 1-3 (low, medium and high) and the blanket takes a few minutes to start warming. The medium heat level (setting 2) is perfect for me. I have been using it daily since receiving it. I turn it on around 15 minutes before we go to bed and it's perfect - it is such a lovely feeling to get into a warm bed! The fleece blanket has a built in over-heat protection too - so the safety is also taken care of.
The blanket can be hand washed or machine washed, although I haven't had the need to do either yet. Detailed instructions on the cleaning and maintenance of the blanket are provided in the user manual.
If you are having difficulty getting a good night's sleep due to the cold wintry nights, then heated bedding can offer help. Try the Silentnight electric blanket - it feels soft to the touch, holds in the heat and warms your bed allowing you to enjoy a warm and good night's sleep. The King sized blanket (165cm x 137cm) is priced at £45.99 and can be purchased online at www.sleepypeople.com
