A while back we were sent a pair of Springuru shoes for Mr.H to try out. Springuru - The Pocket Sprung Shoe - was introduced to the world following a successful campaign via the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter.
Before we move onto the review, I would recommend that you watch the video below. It is the same video that was used for the Kickstarter campaign and gives a good introduction to the concept of Springuru.
Each pair of Springuru has 34 micro pocket springs built into the EVA midsoles. This is a patent protected technology and is similar to the technology used in high-end, luxury mattresses. Just as the pocket springs technology offers a good nights sleep when used in mattresses, in Springuru shoes it provides great cushioning, support, comfort and an unbelievable springy sensation underfoot.
Mr.H was sent a pair in 'grey suede and silver ballistic nylon, with a speckled midsole'. First impressions - the shoes looked well-made and good. But more than the looks, Mr.H was interested in the 'pocket springs technology'. The shoes were comfortable, well-cushioned and felt very good to walk in. The technology does offer great cushioning and literally adds a 'spring' to your step. Mr.H has been using them for a while now and loves them - according to him they are very comfortable to walk in, allow his feet to breathe and look good too. He has no hesitation in recommending them.
