It is Halloween on the coming Monday (October 31st) but I am pretty sure the celebrations are likely to start on Saturday itself. While I am a fan of Halloween (Mr.H is not) and enjoy the fun and celebrations associated with it, I am also not the kind of person to deck up the entire house in orange or with frightening decorations. Rather than going all out with scary costumes, cobwebs and spiders etc., I prefer to have a cosy party for close friends - all of us enjoying some good food, boozy beverages, scary movies and each others company.
I was recently sent a mini spirits gift box from 31Dover.com - the ‘Unofficial Sponsors of Halloween House Parties'. The gift box included Crystal Head Vodka, Chase Marmalade Vodka and Patron XO Café Coffee Liqueur.
Of all the minis, the crystal head vodka was my favourite because of its design - what a beautiful bottle! And adds to the Halloween fervour too. The vodka itself was of a very fine quality. An interesting recipe from the Crystal Head Vodka website caught my attention and I gave it a try. The recipe is below, if you fancy trying it out at your Halloween party. With some interesting garnishings it could be the talking point of your Halloween menu.
Ingredients
50ml Crystal Head Vodka
90ml Tomato juice
Dash of Worcestershire sauce
Dash of hot sauce
Garnish
Mix it up
Rub the rim of the glass with a lemon wedge and dip into salt, pepper and smoked paprika mix. In a shaker half filled with ice, add all ingredients and shake well. Strain into the pre-rimmed glass filled with ice.
Enjoy!
31Dover.com have an interesting range of drinks, many of them perfect for Halloween - KAH Blanco Tequila, Vodka Fright Night, Kraken Black Spiced Rum and Naga Chilli Vodka. I have listed just a few of their offerings. They have all kinds of booze bundles to get your Halloween party started. Check out their website for more - www.31dover.com
