Happy Monday, everyone. In less than a week's time, it will be October. Time has really just flown by! It feels like it was the beginning of 2016 just a while back and here we are moving closer and closer to December. Guess time moves really fast when you are enjoying what you are doing.
Today, I thought I’d share these awesome bargain buys from Matalan with all you candle lovers out there. While I have been to Matalan numerous times, I have always stuck to their clothing section, never really looking into the homeware range they offer. Turns out they have a very nice homeware section which includes an inexpensive range of candles.
The candles are priced economically but there is no compromise on the design or fragrance. The candles are beautifully presented and smell amazing. I have been trying out two of their 3-wick candles - Norwegian Woodfire and Black Orchid & Amber. Both the candles are presented in beautifully designed tins and feature 3 wicks ensuring a clean and even burn. Both the tins feature patterns relevant to their fragrance and I can see myself using the empty tins to store bits and bobs once the candle has run its life.
Orchid-based fragrances can be tricky at times (especially to my nose) but this one from Matalan was a winner. The candle has a surprisingly fruity burst - sweet and delightful. The orchid note was present throughout - making this a very skilfully put together and delightful scent. When lit it feels like I am in a glasshouse full of orchids!
The Norwegian Woodfire candle has a fresh, warm scent that is also a little sweet but without being sickly. The best way I can describe this scent is that it smells a bit like being in an wooded forest with large pine trees.
Both the candles burn evenly and have a burn time of approximately 2 hours. And the best bit - the candles are priced at just £5 each. Matalan's candle range will not only keep your home cosy and well-lit but smelling lovely too. Check out the range here.
