There are a variety of food subscription boxes in the market right now and one of the most talked about is the Degustabox. We have been reviewing and featuring the monthly Degustabox on this blog since 2014. Most of you must be aware of the concept of a surprise subscription box but for those who are new to it, here is an introduction to Degustabox.
Degustabox is a monthly subscription box with around 10-15 surprise food products, some which are new to the market. The box costs £12.99 a month with free shipping and if you were to get the products in the box separately, then you would end up paying more. So, the box is definitely good value for money. If you love food and surprises, then you should try this food box.
The July Degustabox was packed with a lot of goodies. I was happy to see so many different drinks in the box - perfect for the warm weather. First up was a carton of Pineapple, Coconut and Lime drink from Cracker Drinks Co. (£1.50) Tasted great on its own and was lovely as a spritzer with a splash of rum. Then there was a bottle of Spanish Orange Rejuvenation Water (£1.99). With natural fruit flavours, this one was a very refreshing and delicious drink. There was a bottle of ALO drink (£2.45) which had tiny pieces of Aloe in it and tasted nice. Also included were two bottles of Berry White Organic drinks - Sparkling Lemon & Ginger and Sparkling Cranberry & Guava. Both were excellent. Finally there was a bottle of Qcumber sparkling drink, the only drink in the box that I did not enjoy.
My favourite product from the box was Brookside Chocolates Dark Chocolate in Acai & Blueberry flavour (£3.40). A new brand and a product that I loved. These were tiny dark chocolate balls with a soft fruity centre. These also come in Goji & Raspberry flavour which I am going to pick up on my next shop. They also do fruits and nuts covered in chocolate. Yum. Other sweet treats in the box were: 4 portion size packs of Bahlsen Choco Leibniz (£0.40 each) and Rowntree's Fruit Pastilles Infusions (£1.29).
Lattice style crisps from Seabrooks Crisps (£1.99) were delicious while Felix Gherkins (£2.15) with their crunchy texture and sweet taste won me over. It is only a few days since I received the Degustabox and I have already finished half the bottle of these pickled Gherkins. An interesting product was the itsu Crispy Seaweed Thins (£1.00 each) which would work well as a snack or even a salad sprinkle.
Two products which have found place in the food cupboard are Sarson's Balsamic Vinegar (£1.99) and Jordan's Swiss Style Muesli (£2.79) as I already have an opened pack/bottle of these two in use (different brands though). Overall, this months box was very good. A lot of new and interesting products and everything will be used.
