I was very excited when a selection of teas from Begu came through the door a few weeks back. Regular readers of the blog would know that I love teas (massively more than coffee) and whether it is a fruity blend, a herbal variety or the traditional version - Indian spiced tea is one of my all-time favourites - I love them all. As Lin Yutang (the author of 'The Importance of Living') says 'There is something in the nature of tea that leads us into a world of quiet contemplation of life.' I completely agree with him.
Begu are creators of specialist lifestyle healthy teas and in their own words
Begu's current offerings include 6 speciality teas:
Firstly, I loved the packaging of Begu tea - well thought of, simple yet conveying the message clearly. The tea bags come packed in a resealable pouch to retain their freshness. The ingredients are listed out clearly as are the serving suggestions. The pyramid teabags are fully biodegradable making them better for the environment.
I tried 'Crave' first and it turned out to be one of my favourites. Naturally sweetened with Stevia, the black tea is a blend of natural ingredients like Cinnamon, Coconut, Caraway, Sunflower & Calendula petals, Fenugreek and Yerba Mate. It tastes as good as it smells. It is sweet, satisfying and does reduce ones craving for sweet stuff. My second favourite was 'Calm' which is a delicious blend of herbs and spices like Peppermint, Chamomile, Lemon Balm, Lime flowers, Passionflower, Calendula petals and Rooibos. It has a calming effect and is perfect after a hectic day at work, although I enjoy it any time of the day.
Mr.H loved 'Nightea Night' and 'System Cleanse' both caffeine free teas. While the former is perfect as a night time tea, the latter is very good at keeping your digestion working well and also to reduce bloating.
Begu's website has a lot of information on nutrition and fitness and both these sections are free for all Begu tea customers. You can login to these sections and access loads of recipes and exercise videos all matched especially to your needs. I have not used this feature personally but think that it is a wonderful idea.

ReplyDeleteI love teas, however my specialist has told me to cut down on them due to my immune problems :( These ones sound delicious and I would love to try them out, if it wasn't for my medical issues...
