I love Mary Janes. I have an old pair (plain black ones) that I have used quite a lot and needed replacing. So when I got the opportunity to pick a pair of footwear from Hey Dude Shoes, I opted for these multi-coloured Mary Janes. There were many options to choose from the new arrivals - solid colour shoes and shoes with glitter but these colourful ones caught my eye. Made with E-last textile, these shoes promised comfort and style. Once I had confirmed my selection, I was waiting eagerly for the arrival of the shoes.
And when they arrived, I was very pleased to note that the shoes looked even better than they did in the photos. I immediately tried them on as sometimes the sizing can be a problem. This pair was true to its size and fit me perfectly. They felt very comfortable.
The shoes have an E-last (elasticised) web contour moulding upper on patented lightweight EVA soles. The elasticised uppers offer an ultra-comfortable fit. The shoes are sturdy and well made yet lightweight. As per Hey Dude, the shoes can be machine washed. Hey Dude seem to have been aiming for a mix of style, comfort and practicality and from first impressions I felt they had achieved it. But the real test would be when I put the shoes to use in different scenarios.
So, did the shoes fare well? Yes, they did. The shoes are lightweight, so at times you feel that you are not wearing them at all. I had ordered Size 5 (my regular size) and the pair fit me perfectly - snug enough but still allowing my feet to breathe. The shoes are comfortable and easy to walk in. They come with a leather lined removable memory foam insole that allows you to wear the shoes barefoot without attracting odour causing bacteria. These are perfect for everyday use as well as for holidays. The biggest test of comfort was when I wore these for a little under 4 hours (at a stretch) and even after walking for so long there was no discomfort. The shoes score excellently in terms of comfort.
And the best part - the shoes are so pleasing to the eye. I am happy I went for the multi-coloured ones. I can pair it with most outfits and this pair has become my go-to footwear choice in the last couple of weeks.

So fun and vibrant! Also, it's nice to hear they are practical - I purchased some recently from Clarks and they were a total waste of money and left my feet very sore!
