Today I am here with the January Degustabox. Just like the previous boxes we have had the opportunity to try, there was a wonderful range of products and brands in this box too. If you are new to the concept of Degustabox, let me tell you about them. They are a food subscription box (£12.99 per month including P&P) that send you a box full of food items every month. It is a surprise selection of products and you will only know what's in your box once you receive it. If you love food and surprises, then this box is for you!
Let's take a look at what was in the January Degustabox. I will begin with the drinks. There was a bottle of Coldpress Apple Juice. I had not tried this brand earlier and liked it. Something I will surely pick up again. Tsingtao Chinese Beer - my OH tried it and said it was good.
One of our favourites from the box was the Yushoi Snapea Rice Sticks. Another new brand and this was not something I would have ordinarily picked up during my grocery shopping. But having tried it, both of us liked it; more so my OH who finished the bag rather quickly.
The Conscious Organic Raw Chocolate was a revelation. I used to enjoy dark chocolates and then I moved onto a phase where I only liked milk chocolates. But when this bar arrived in the Degustabox and I saw that it was organic and vegan, I thought I would give it a try. It was quite unusual and not how I had expected it to be - but I liked it. It was soft and tasted great! Next it is the Clarks Carob Fruit Syrup which can be used to sweeten drinks or even used in baking. We have tried it with our tea but haven't used it in baking though. The syrup is said to have low GI, so is good for those who are looking to keep their sugar levels down or under control.
Finn Crisp Original - this is something I buy regularly and have also received in some earlier boxes. Good for snacking - goes well with a variety of dips and toppings like cheese, eggs or spiced cucumbers. The Fruit Bowl Blackcurrant Flakes were fun. We also liked Jordans Country Crisp Fruit & Nut. Perfect for breakfast and you can add a drizzle of the Clarks Carob Fruit Syrup to make it even more yummy.
There were two packs of cooking sauces from Amoy - Malaysian Laksa and Thai Massaman Curry sauce. These were given to a friend as the sauces contained fish. Heard back from her that the sauces were a time saver and tasted great with rice and diced potatoes - easy to prepare and filling. There was a pack of Slim Noodles too. These are gluten free, sugar free and are said to have only 9 calories per 100g. Interesting. I haven't tried it yet though.
Overall, we liked the selection of products included in this box - some healthy treats, some known brands and some new products. If you want to try out Degustabox, you can use the code BLDEG15 to get £6.00 off your first box.
