I have been using the Ozeri Green Earth Wok for more than 2 years now and it is still as good as new even with almost daily usage. The only wear and tear has been in the handle which has developed a small crack but the non-stick coating of the wok is still intact and totally 'non-stick' like it was on the first day of use. So it should come as no surprise to you, when I say that Ozeri is a brand I trust and would recommend without a second thought. Recently I was sent the 26 cm Green Earth Frying Pan from Ozeri to test.
Just like the wok, the frying pan also makes use of the GREBLON ceramic coating. Greblon is an ultra-safe ceramic coating from Germany which is 100% PTFE and PFOA free (i.e. no heavy metals or chemicals), is scratch-resistant and also super easy to clean. The frying pan has an unique textured surface which delivers unmatched non-stick performance without the release of any harmful fumes or toxins at high temperatures. This is a major plus point over some of the cheaper non-stick coated pans and pots which release harmful chemicals when heated. The textured cooking surface also helps the cooking performance by creating small air pockets beneath the food that is being cooked. This not only cooks the food evenly but also prevents it from sticking to the pan. And this is not just information I am listing out from the literature, it actually does that. I have used the frying pan to make omelettes and pancakes and each time the food simply slides out of the pan once cooked.
I use very little oil when cooking in this pan. Not only because it is healthier, but because I have noticed that too much oil can cause some oil build-up which becomes difficult to clean. So, the best way to use it is - use little oil, use only wooden or silicone spoons and spatulas, use within the recommended heat settings and clean up after every single use so that there is no oil build-up and the pan stays as good as new.
The pan is well made and feels solid when you hold it in your hands. It has a heat-resistant silicon coated handle and comes in 3 different sizes – 20, 26 and 30 cms. I like the pan's non-stick feature, the safety aspect (100% PTFE and PFOA free) and its solid build quality. If it lasts and is as durable as the Ozeri wok that I have, then it is a good buy for the price it sells at.
The frying pan is currently available for £24.99 on Amazon UK.
Great review and thanks for sharing :)
