A while ago the team at Bond & Knight sent us a handmade, bespoke leather wallet. Mr. Husband has been using it. He loved the quality and craftsmanship so much that he decided to share his views in a review. Before we hear what he has to say, let me tell you a little about Bond & Knight. They are independent British leather designers who specialise in handmade and bespoke leather goods. They were shortlisted and won the 2015 BTAA Fashion Accessory of the Year award recently. Their wallets are made using a single piece of folded leather, with no stitching and no seams. Every wallet from Bond & Knight is completely unique but all of them are super soft, slim and yet super strong.
I had opted for my husband's initials to be embossed on the wallet. When the package was delivered, it was beautifully boxed and wrapped. I let Mr.H do the unboxing and waited for his reactions. So, here are his views - right from the packaging to the wallet itself.
The packaging was stylish and elegant - just the way it should be when the box holds a premium and high quality wallet inside. Once the box was opened and having held the wallet in your hands, you can tell that the wallet is unique - it is an excellent modern take on a vintage style. Bond & Knight have redesigned a vintage origami wallet design which has its roots in war time and come up with a single-piece wallet of folded leather which does not make use of any stitching and has no seams. Add to it the use of high quality materials and excellent craftsmanship and you have a premium and stylish wallet on hand.
The wallet has a lot of features that can be customised, like the leather colour, the colour of the Bond & Knight logo (you can opt for silver or go with plain) and the initials that you would like embossed on the inside bottom right of the wallet. The wallet is capable of holding up to 10 cards and has a full length notes section. The wallet we received has a baby blue leather centre piece and matching colour corners lined with a super-soft suede lining in the same colour. You can choose from the other centre piece colours (red, yellow and black) or opt for a design like the Union Flag or skulls or the Dupenny burlesque dancers! While the designs give the wallet an interesting look, the ones with solid colours are equally stunning. Love it. Overall, the wallet is of excellent quality and will only become better with age.
Bond & Knight have an online bespoke design service where they create designs based on your artwork, your photography or even your company logo. This would make for an excellent and unique gifting option.
