It's Degustabox time on the blog. The May Degustabox arrived just before the bank holiday weekend. The postman bought it in when I had one of our new neighbours visiting me. She was intrigued to know about Degustabox and if like her you have not heard of Degustabox, here is some information on the food box. Degustabox is a monthly food subscription box that is delivered every month packed with surprise goodies. The box costs £12.99 per month including the delivery and there is no commitment on the length of your subscription. Each month around 9 to 14 surprise products are included in the box, some of which are new to the market! Let's take a look at what was included in the May box.
There was a pack of Daelmans Stroopwafels. These authentic Dutch waffles had a creamy caramel filling and tasted lovely straight from the box and even when warmed over a cup of Peanut Hottie. Loved it. There was a also pack of 9Bar Fruity. The bars were delicious bar and come packed with nutritious seeds like sunflower, sesame and pumpkin; combined with dried apricots and dates. Mr.H picked these up for himself as afternoon treats in his office. The Fuel 10K Protibrick was something new to me. I do consume protein bars(and love them) but wheat biscuits with protein - I had never heard of them. Protibricks are made from 100% wholegrain and are high in fibre while being low in both sugar and fat. Perfect way to add more protein to my vegetarian diet.
Maggi So Stir Fry Noodles |
Some products that went into my kitchen cupboard were: Sarson's Balsamic Vinegar - a full bodied balsamic vinegar with a slightly tangy taste. This will go well on a salad. Then there were two packs of Maggi So StirFry noodles. Delicious. I loved both the variants that I received. There was a bag of Schwartz Grill Mate Marinade in a Bag. A very easy way to marinade. Another new brand(product) was the Slim Pasta Lasagne. It is made from Konjac flour and oat fibre and claims to be a low calorie alternative to regular lasagne. I haven't tried this one yet but it does sound interesting.
I loved the Sweet Baby Ray's Honey BBQ Sauce. It is an American product and can be used for marinating, dipping or as a cooking ingredient. I loved the sweet and smoky blend and it is just perfect with Quorn Meat Free Chicken Nuggets.
There was only one drink in the May box - Green Coco Kid's Coco Juice & Banana. As the name suggests this is a kids drink and I did not like it much.
So, there is the May Degustabox for you. While we did miss the inclusion of drinks in the box, it was still an interesting selection of products. If you fancy trying a box for yourself, you can use this code O5DW6 to get a £3.00 discount of your first order.
