It's Winter time and the past week I received my Winter Degustabox(the November edition). I was waiting with a lot of anticipation for the November box and it did not disappoint me. What caught my attention first was the change in the colour of text that is printed on the box. Usually green, this month it was red to give a festive feel :) Little things like this show the amount of thought that goes into each box. Love it. Before I move onto the contents of the box and my recipes(yes, I am including 2 easy-peasy recipes this time), here is some information about Degustabox for those of you who haven't heard of it before.
Degustabox is a monthly subscription box containing food and drink items. The items are selected both from well-known and new brands allowing you to discover new flavours each month. The boxes cost £12.99 a month (including delivery) and as always, I have been kindly given a £3.00 discount code to share with you folks - simply type 'K51P9' when registering on the Degustabox site and the discount will be applied at checkout.
Moving onto the box. Here is what was included in the November(Winter) box.
Salsa & Mesquite Kettle Chips, 1 x £2.19
We love chips and Kettle is one brand we pick up very often. We had never tried this flavour before. The flavour name 'Salsa & Mesquite' sounded very enticing and the chips were as delicious as the name.
Montano Italian Cider, £2.79
Cider is a drink that I enjoy and so was quite happy to see this bottle in the box. This is a new brand for me, so am keen to try it out.
Cool Dawn Recovery Drinks, 2 x £1.49
This is a brand I had never heard of. The product that was included in the box is a herbal detox drink which is said to prevent/cure bad hangovers. It is non-carbonated and doesn't contain any stimulants. With the party season at the doorstep, I am sure that these would be very useful!
Branston Mediterranean Tomato Chutney, 1 x £1.50
My favourite product in this months box. Both myself and Mr.H loved the flavours/taste. We have managed to finish the chutney in a couple of days time. Definitely a repurchase item and I can see this becoming a regular at our place.
Pip Organic Drinks in Cloudy Apple, 2 x £1.50
Loved these - delicious and very fresh! And made from 100% organic fruit. I would definitely be trying out other variants from this brand.
Kent's Kitchen Flavour Shots(Fajita), 1 x £1.85
Very handy to have in the kitchen cupboard, these flavour shots are an easy way to add flavour to meals. I haven't used these yet, but am sure to reach out for them in the coming weeks.
Holy Cow Curry Sauces(Madras Chettinad and Mughlai Korma), 2 x £1.69
Yet another new brand! This months box has so many new brands and I am loving it. These curry sauces are time savers. While I usually prepare my curries from scratch, I do stock up on curry sauces and pastes for those days when my health does not permit me to spend time cooking.
Lindt Lindor My Melting Moment, £0.65 each
According to Mr.H Lindt is one of the very best chocolate brands around and he was happy to see the 'My Melting Moment' chocolates in the box. Needless to say these didn't last long.
Drink Me Chai Spiced Chai Latte(Extra sample)Chai lover? Then I would recommend that you try this.
And there was one more extra surprise in the box - Baru chocolates. Degustabox UK turned one this month and this box of delicious chocolate was a bonus gift sent out to the most loyal subscribers of Degustabox. Bloggers who have been working with Degustabox for some time now also received this delicious box. Thank you, Degustabox team.
I put the two Holy Cow Curry Sauces to use immediately on receipt and we loved both the curries. It look less than 15 minutes to prepare each and 1 packet of curry sauce with the veggies added was sufficient for 1 person(Curry is our staple along with Roti/Naan/Rice, so 1 pack serves 1 in our household). I kept the number of ingredients to the minimum and yet the end result was delicious.
