Time flies when you are having fun. It seems like October had just begun and here we are welcoming November. As the new month begins its time for a quick roundup of some interesting food products I was kindly sent over the past month.
Higher Living Tea
Tea is something we enjoy a lot at home. Whatever be the season, whatever be the mood, there is a tea for every occasion. I love discovering new tea brands and one such brand that I was introduced to last year is 'Higher Living'. Their infusions are created by herbal experts with over 45 years of brewing up exceptional teas, so you can expect premium quality. Sweet Chai and Sweet Chilli are two of my favourites from the Higher Living range. Over the past month we have been enjoying their 'teapees'. Teapees are tetrahedron shaped tea bags. The two flavours that we tried were: English Earl Grey Teapee and Power Teapee. As always both myself and Mr.H picked our favourites instantly. I was drawn to the Power Teapee which is packed full of aromatic and tasty organic herbs, spices and fruits giving the blend a strong tasty punch. Churchill's Christmas Pudding Fudge
Made by Churchill's Confectionery, these creamy and smooth Christmas Pudding Fudge were an instant hit at home. They are really delicious and are made with top class ingredients. We had my cousins over at our place when the fudge arrived and it was well received by all. It was a unanimous verdict that these sweets were wonderfully old fashioned and had been made to perfection. I loved the packaging as well. Definitely recommend as a Christmas buy! Slim Fruits
Ok, so this actually is not food per say, but the brand claims it is "the healthiest sweet on the market". So I decided to include it in this food roundup :) Slim Fruits are Acacia tree gum fibre sweets that are free-from sugar and only 2 kcals per sweet. Yes, you read that right. Each pastille has only 2 kcals but the same fibre content as 6 slices of wholemeal bread - minus the carbohydrates and fat. Sounds too good to be true, isn't it? While I did not use these as an aid for slimming, I did use them as sweet treats to control my sugar cravings. The pastilles are a little bit harder and much more chewy than I had expected but they do taste nice. They pastilles come in 2 flavours - Peach Melba and Rhubarb & Strawberry - both of which are bold and fruity in taste. The pastilles may not have the 'perfect' texture that I was looking for, but they are no doubt a great alternative to sugar rich snacks. Priced at £1.89 per pack, Slim Fruits can be picked up from Boots and Holland & Barrett stores across UK.
Christmas Cocktails with Fentimans!
We have been fans of Fentimans ever since we first tried their drinks earlier this year. Last month we tried some of their finest mixers - Fentimans’ Ginger Ale, Tonic Water and the new 19:05 Herbal Tonic Water. Made with the very best natural ingredients and a lot of British passion, these mixers are sure to add a bit of sparkle over the festive season! My favorite was the 19:05 Herbal Tonic Water - a unique mixture of floral and herbal botanicals giving it a very intriguing aroma and complex layer flavours.

What you’ll need:
4.5cl dark or spiced rum
1.5cl freshly squeezed orange juice
1.5cl ginger syrup
1. Shake the ingredients above with ice.
2. Strain into a double Collins glass and add ice cubes.
3. Add Fentimans Ginger Beer and garnish with orange peel.
