Ginger sticks, bitter mints and violet creams,
Chocolate, chocolate, every where,
Too many to choose from, they even come in my dreams!
Well, that is my first attempt at poetry and I think it may well be my last attempt as well. My poem writing skills may not be good, but the message I am trying to get across in those four lines holds good. Charbonnel et Walker, who have been established since 1875, have been making hand-made chocolates according to traditional recipes. Their range of chocolates is amazing and they have something for every occasion. Ginger truffles, maple brazils, sugared almonds, vintage fine chocolates, rum fourre - you name it and they have it in their collection; after all they are one of Britain’s earliest chocolatiers.
The Thins Collection from Charbonnel et Walker, like all their other offerings, are hand-made. The packaging is exquisite. The box has a luxurious look and with the red satin ribbon it is perfect for gifting as well. When I held the 'Dark Chocolate Mint Thins' box in my hands, I felt like I was holding a treasure box. And treasure it was, that the box held within itself - chocolate treasure. Thin discs of dark chocolate infused with a subtle taste of mint - luxurious and silky. Melt in the mouth, irresistible dark chocolate with perfect balance of mint. Both myself and Mr.H enjoyed these. It scored well on presentation, quality, texture and flavour. The only wee bit issue was that some of the thins were broken. The chocolate thins are slightly fragile and even though the packaging is sturdy and there is double protection, it did not save some of them from breaking. Other than that these yummy mint thins get full marks from us.
