Gifted | Affiliate

The past Friday was an exciting day because the April Degustabox arrived on that day. Degustabox is a monthly subscription food box that allows you to discover new flavours and products every month. The products are chosen with care and thought and you get to discover new brands and flavours every month. The April box was definitely by far the most favourite box of mine. So, what was in the April Box? Here you go, a quick round-up of the contents:

- Dr Oetker range of Fine Cook's Chocolate x 2 (£1.69 each)
- Crabbie's Alcocholic Ginger Beer (£2.19)
- Clearspring Miso Soup x 2 (£1.29 each)
- Lindt Lindor 38g Treat Bar x 3 (£0.80 each)
- Go Splash (£2.45)
- Cawston Press Rhubarb Soft Drink (£1.00)
- Keogh's Atlantic Sea Salt & Irish Cider Vinegar Crisps (£1.00)
- Mornflake Superfast Pots x 2 (£1.20 each)
- McVitie's Jaffa Cake Mini Rolls x 2 (£1.30 each)

The Vegan friendly soups from Clearspring were a big hit at home. The box had 2 sachets and myself and Mr.H found ones that suited our taste. I loved the Red Miso with Sea Veg while he preferred the White Miso with Tofu. These tiny sachets are so simple to use - cut open the pack and add the miso block to a mug; then add 160ml of hot water and stir. Your soup is ready. The Red Miso with Sea Veg soup had Wakame sea vegetable(a dark green leaf) and this was the first time I was tasting it. It had a lovely clean, kind of Oriental taste.  Mr.H's soup had freeze-dried tofu and though it was quite mild/light in taste it was filling. If you want really quick and tasty soup, then these tiny Miso soup sachets from Clearspring are for you.

Keogh's Atlantic Sea Salt & Irish Cider Vinegar Crisps are hand cooked in small batches in Ireland. The potatoes are picked and turned into crisps the same day thereby retaining the freshness. 'From crop to crisps' is what Keogh's state and you can also trace the packet of crisps to the field they came from. The packet that we received  came from the 'Ballamadun' field and was made from 'Lady Claire' variety of potatoes and cooked by Margaret. Thanks Margaret, we loved the crisps. This was the first item that we reached out for after opening the box.

Go Splash is a brand I am not familiar with. Each tiny bottle is said to make 6 litres of flavoured water. All you need to do is squeeze a little of Go Splash into your glass of water and you have a lovely flavoured drink without adding any sugar. It is a low calorie drink and I can see myself using this up.

I haven't tried out the Mornflake Superfast pots yet, but these cereal pots seem to be perfect for on-the-go as all you need to do is add a splash of cold water.

We love chocolates at home so the Dr Oetker's range of cooking chocolates are most welcome. We received 2 bars - the 35% milk chocolate bar and another one with 72% cocoa solids. The box also had Lindt Lindor 38g Treat bars and needless to say these also disappeared quickly. Mr.H claimed two while I got the third one :) The soft creamy centre in these treat bars was absolutely delicious. Yumm.

There were 2 other drinks in the Degustabox - Crabbie's Alcoholic Ginger Beer and Cawston Press Rhubarb Soft Drink. The sparkling Rhubarb drink had a somewhat 'tarty' Rhubarb taste balanced by sweet Apple juice and tasted wonderful chilled. I liked the fact that it does not contain any artificial colourings, sweeteners or preservatives. This would make a wonderful refreshing summer drink. The Crabbie's Alcoholic Ginger Beer was awesome. We received the Raspberry flavoured one and it was such a unique refreshing taste. I loved the beautiful pink colour of the drink as well. This is definitely going to be a repurchase. I will be picking up the other flavours.

The Jaffa Cakes Mini Rolls were in 2 interesting flavours: Tropicool and Berry Burst. The rolls can now be popped into the freezer and enjoyed as a light frozen snack. We had one of the packs frozen and one as is and in both cases we enjoyed the fruity treats. Each mini roll is individually packed making it convenient to carry them as well.

So folks that's what was there in my April Degustabox and we liked all the items.
