About a month back, Snails - Safe Nails approached me and asked if I would be interested in trying out an unique non-toxic, washable nail polish. I mentioned to them that I have no little ones of my own to test it on. However since my blog gets a lot of mommy readers, the idea of a giveaway seemed more interesting and apt. Apart from sponsoring the giveaway for my blog readers Snails also sent me a package with a couple of their products to try out and validate their claims about the product.
Snails nail polishes come in a wide range of colours and to my surprise they apply very smoothly. There is no clumping or streakiness. Because they are 100% natural water-based nail polishes, they are easy to remove with just some soapy water. The nail polishes come in glass bottles with a white lid and a very lovely bow that matches the shade of the nail polish. This instantly reminded me of Ciate :) I am sure little girls will love the cute packaging.
The nail polish shades have such lovely names - Candy Floss, Cherry Queen, Fairy Tale, Glitter Bomb, Prince Frog and Twinkle Dust to name a few. My package had the shade 'Gingerbread' - a hot, sun-kissed orange shade. Perfect for the summer months. The polish applies well like I mentioned earlier and dries quickly too. Easy to remove as well - no need for a nail polish remover; just some soap and water and the colour comes off without any staining. The top coat from Snails can be used if you wish to give some longevity to your nail colours. It doesn't look transparent as you can see from the pictures, but applies like a sheer coat. This one is the new version of the top coat from Snails.
Some of the key features of Snails:
- All-natural product
- Contains nothing toxic
- Water based product that easily washes off with soap
- Lead-free packaging
- Doesn't stain the nails
- Safe for kids
If you are looking for non-toxic nail colours for your little girls, then do give Snails Kids nail polish a try. There are no harmful substances in these and they are gentle on the nails; so you can let your children colour their nails without any worry.
