Caring for sensitive skin is not an easy task. If you have sensitive skin, then anything from topical products that you use to food that you eat can trigger irritation. So, one needs to take good care of sensitive skin. Drinking lots of water(with lemon if you like) and making some dietary changes can help. Do not over-exfoliate and choose your skin care products after research. Most cleansers are filled with chemical nasties and fragrances and tend to irritate sensitive skin. And that is why I always lookout for products that are made for specifically for sensitive skin. The Skin Medica Sensitive Skin Cleanser is one such product that has been formulated for dry, sensitive and post-procedure skin.
The cleanser comes in a grey pump dispenser making it very hygienic and also ensures that there is no product wastage. The cleanser has a smooth creamy texture and is lightweight. It doesn't lather but is still very effective in removing excess oil and make-up. I moisten my face and massage the cleanser all over the face and neck. And then rinse it off. It is a bit hard to rinse off probably because of the Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil which is one of its main ingredients. But this also means that it also provides some amount of hydration while cleansing which is good for dry and sensitive skin. The company claims that the product can also be used on post-procedure skin, so it must be really gentle. It is creamy and fragrance free so it doesn't irritate my skin. I have made it a part of my night time cleansing routine as it works well for me.
If you are looking for a foaming cleanser, then this is not for you. This is more of a creamy milky cleanser which doesn't foam but is gentle enough and works well for sensitive skin. You can read more about Skin Medica here. Skin Medica products are available with most skin care specialists and dermatologists or you can order it online here.
