Until very recently I was not aware of Jason; a brand that has been around since 1959. It was only a few weeks back during my search for natural oral care products that I chanced upon their website. The Jason team were kind enough to send across two products for me to review and share the information with my lovely readers. The first product is the Healthy Mouth Tartar Control Cinnamon Clove Mouthwash, which I will be reviewing today. And the second product is the Power Smile Whitening Toothpaste which I will review soon.
The Healthy Mouth mouthwash aims at controlling tartar build-up in the mouth. It contains Natural Grapefruit Seed and Perilla Seed Extracts which reduce tartar build-up while the antibacterial and antiseptic properties of Tea Tree Oil protects the oral cavity from acid forming bacteria. In addition to these, the mouthwash also has Aloe Vera gel to soothe any gum irritation while Cinnamon and Clove oils keep your breath fresh and clean.
If you have been following my blog, you would know that I love the Clove-Cinnamon combination. The fragrance of the mouthwash reminded me of the Heyland & Whittle Oatmeal and Spice Soap.
The smell is strong but in a nice way. The taste is also pleasant. You will like it if you like clove/cinnamon. The point to note here is that the mouthwash is concentrated. So, to reduce the intensity you can dilute one part mouthwash with one part water. This is clearly mentioned on the bottle.
The mouthwash does not sting or irritate as you swish it around in your mouth. However take care that you do not swallow it. I have been using it for sometime now and it has been working well. It leaves the mouth clean and fresh and the fresh breath feeling lasts for a few hours. It must be taking care of the bacteria as mouth does feel clean and better.
Love the fact that it doesn't contain alcohol and saccharin. Also like the fact that it contains a whole load of natural ingredients. A 473ml bottle is priced at £5.99, pricier than most mouthwashes out there. But if you consider the fact that it is concentrated 2:1, you are effectively getting 2 bottles for that price. And since it's all natural I really don't mind shelling out the extra bucks.
Overall, this is a soothing, cleansing mouthwash with a lovely taste. Even Mr H who found the taste too strong initially has now come to like it. It is an acquired taste, after a few uses you begin to like it.
