When I laid my eyes on the Gwdihw (pronounced "Goody Hoo") range I was instantly drawn to it. Gwdihw is the Welsh word for "owl" and since I have a kind of attraction to anything 'Owl', it was no wonder I liked this on first sight. If you have been following my blog, you must have noticed the small owl plant holders in most pictures. Those are hand painted by me and I keep changing the owl patterns every now and then. In fact if I find any unused piece of ceramic/potter, I end up painting an owl on it :) Okay, enough of my owl fetish and let me talk about Gwdihw.
Gwdihw is a Welsh company based in Conwy, North Wales and they make a wide range of natural and herbal balms. These balms cover a range of problems like insect bites, nappy rash, first-aid balm, muscle and joint pain and a range of soothers. All their products are 100% natural and free from artificial chemicals and colorants and they use locally grown herbs and ingredients.
Since this month's special on the blog is 'Lips', so let me begin by reviewing Smoochy Lips balm from Gwdihw. The lip balm comes in four variants - Pineapple, Cherry, Vanilla and Orange & Lemon(which is the one I will be talking about).
The lip balm comes in a cute little 25g tin. The packaging is cute and features an owl on the lid. Easy to carry the tin around in your travel bag. The balm has a lovely citrusy smell, like fresh lemons. Though it has both Orange and Lemon essential oils, I could smell more of lemon. The fragrance reminded me of lemon cake :) The balm is not sticky and glides easily on the lips. You need just a little amount to keep your lips soft and hydrated. I have been using it for the past few days and just two applications a day are enough to keep the lips soft.
Priced at £4.49 for a 25g tin, you can purchase the range from Gwdihw website. They also have a nice collection of Gwdi Bags(goody bags) which would make a perfect gift for a loved one.

I have their cherry lip balm and love it very much. Scent and taste feels very accurate, not synthetic like most of lip balms do. Plus it is natural!
ReplyDeleteYes, they do not smell synthetic at all. And the fact that it is all natural is a bonus!
