Sugar scrubs are an excellent way to get incredibly soft skin. Sugar scrubs are usually made from white or brown cane sugar and a mix of essential and body oils. If you are regular reader of this blog, you will be aware that I am more passionate about skin care than makeup. And as such I love to try out new skincare brands especially those which tend to use organic ingredients and herbs and less of chemical nasties.
Aedos is one such brand that was founded by Sandra Elston and the range of products does not use parabens, lanolin and other petrochemical based ingredients. I therefore welcomed the opportunity to try out some of their products with open hands. The first product that I will be reviewing is the Unscented Sugar Scrub.
With nourishing organic Shea Butter and Cocoa butter, this sugar scrub comes in a 100g tin. The scrub is easy to remove and apply. Unlike some other scrubs that I have tried, this one doesn't dissolve immediately on contact with skin. The sugar granules are tiny but they last long enough to offer good exfoliation. Take a handful of the sugar scrub and apply to wet skin, massage in circular motion over the body and rinse off. Once you start scrubbing you can feel the moisturising effects of the body butters. I have been using the unscented version but you can also try it out in a range of fragrances like - Italian Bergamot and Grapefruit or Geranium and English Lavender.
Overall, this is a good sugar scrub that buffs away dead skin, boosts circulation and leaves you with silky soft skin. The only minor gripe is that I need to clean up the bath tub after using the scrub as it tends to become slippery - probably due to the body butters. If you can manage cleaning the tub after every use of the sugar scrub then go ahead and make the sugar scrub a part of your regular skin care routine as regular usage does make a huge difference in the way your skin looks and feels.
